取样泵可以吸入27英寸汞柱（汞）的真空。管接头装置可以接受任何尺寸的取样管（外径为3/16“至5/16”），无需更换接头。采样管插入连接装置，直到其下端延伸到样品瓶顶部的下方。当旋转滚花旋钮来拧紧密封件时，真空将直接将液体吸入瓶中而不会与泵接触。这种设计允许在不用样品清洗泵的情况下进行多次采样。
